Meet Our Co-Owner, Consultant Emily Galvin!

We want to make sure you know who you're working with when you work with us! Last week we introduced Theresa. This week, it's Emily's turn.

Today’s Summit Spotlight: Emily Galvin

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

  1. Driven

  2. Open-minded

  3. Funny (at least I think I am, although my husband would disagree)

What are 2 things only your friends and family know about you?

  1. If I have headphones in, I'm listening to an audiobook or a podcast. I do love music, but I just love myself some literature, too!

  2. I have a really big family. I’m the third of four girls and have lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. I also have a (nearly) 2-year old daughter and another on the way. I’m used to loud houses with multiple conversations going at once.

What’s the best part about working with high performers?

Sports are unpredictable. You never really know when the underdog will prevail, or when there will be a blowout. You never really know if tonight is the night a competitor has the best performance of her life. It’s exciting. And it’s emotional. The athletes we work with are so committed to their sports. They pour themselves into their training and strive to reach higher and higher heights. Having the chance to be part of such a dynamic culture and be one piece of an athlete’s performance puzzle is so rewarding.

If you absolutely could not be a mental performance consultant, what would you be?

I’d be an international food critic. That would be a perfect blend of my passions for travel and food. I’d have to do a lot of work refining my palette (ahem), but I’d enjoy every bite along the way.

What would you say to an athlete who is on the fence about working with you?

I’d say, step right up. I don’t use a cookie-cutter formula for my work with athletes. I’ll get to know you and your goals and create a plan to help you get to the next level. In the process, I’ll probably crack a few jokes and use my hands as I’m talking a bit too much, but I’ll never judge you. We’re in this together.
